An introduction to the life of the Queen of Heaven. The Venerable Sister Mary of Jesus of Agreda explains the reason for writing the life story of the Blessed Virgin Mary and she explains other circumstances and occurrences she encountered while writing this history.

Special Visions Granted by Our Lord - The Conception - Book 1 - Chapter 1

The Venerable Sister Mary of Jesus of Ágreda describes two special visions granted to her by Our Lord. She also discusses other enlightenments and mysteries made clear to her which compelled her to withdraw from earthly things and raised her spirit to dwell above the earth.

How it was Explained to Sister Mary of Ágreda - The Conception - Bk 1 - Ch 2

The Venerable Sister Mary of Ágreda describes how the history of the Blessed Virgin Mary was explained to her. The different types or modes of revelation she experienced and their grades or characteristics. She tells us of how she was born with a great grace – the fear of the loss of God. Seen by many as a weakness in faith, Maria tells us of how it is, “Her greatest blessing.”

The Venerable Sister Maria de Jesus of Ágreda is given a vision of the Holy Trinity and describes what she saw. She details their nature and substance, within our very limited understanding. Jesus and Mary were 1st in intention - The Conception - Bk 1 - Ch 4

Christ and thus the Blessed Virgin Mary were first in God's intention. To help us understand the sequence or the development of creation, Sister Maria de Jesus of Ágreda breaks down the decisions or instances leading up to the creation of the material (the universe and us) and immaterial (angels and heaven and hell) as they were relayed to her by God and the angels guiding her.

The Blessed Virgin Mary revealed in Proverbs - The Conception - Bk 1 - Ch 5

Venerable Sr. Maria de Jesus details how Jesus, the Incarnation, and thus the Blessed Virgin Mary, were first in intent in the creation of all things using the Book of Proverbs. She also relates how Mary was to be set apart in a unique way from the rest of creation – before anything was created.

God answers Questions about our Redemption - The Conception - Bk 1 - Ch 6

Venerable Sr. Mary of Jesus had some doubts about what was revealed to her about the coming of Christ or the Redemption as separate events. So many teachers in His holy church teach that our redemption was the primary cause of the Incarnation. She also asked about the differences in teaching within the Church. God answered both questions directly and tells her that differences, when based on truth, increases our understanding.

God Announces His Plan to the Angels - The Conception - Bk 1 - Ch 7

After God created the angels, they were shown the Divine plan for the creation of the world and the human race whose apex would be the Incarnation of the Word (Jesus Christ) via the Blessed Virgin Mary. This brought on the fall of the angels that did not love God. Out of wild pride, jealousy, and arrogance Satan threatened God’s plan and told Him that he would destroy the mortals and especially this Virgin he loved so much. He would fail in his boasting. God Himself warned Satan, "This Woman, whom you refuse to honour, shall crush thy head and by Her shalt thou be vanquished and annihilated (Genesis 3:15). And if through thy pride, death enters into the world (Wisdom 2:24), life and salvation of mortals shall enter through the humility of this Woman. Those that are of the nature and likeness of that Man and Woman, shall enjoy the gifts and the crowns, which thou and thy followers have lost."

 

Mary and Revelations 12 - The Conception - Bk 1 - Ch 8

Chapter 12 of the book of Revelations is explained to the Venerable Sister Maria of Ágreda. These events have already happened. Satan is transformed into the ugly dragon and thrown out of Heaven. Arrogantly, he continues to threaten God's divine plan. God assures Satan of Mary’s place, and with His grace, the dragon will never reach her. Mary’s sinless creation and life mean she is never under Satan’s influence, not even through original sin.
